Vince Belperio

General Manager

Vince commenced his apprenticeship as a Fitter & Turner in 1993 with the Engineering & Water Supply (E&WS) of South Australia before transferring to Heavymech Pty Ltd in 1996.  Vince embarked on a journey that led him through many roles with our business including Fitter & Turner Tradesman, Leading Hand, Supervisor and in 2006 he was appointed as Operations Manager.  During this time Vince learned to appreciate the need to operate a business such as Heavymech in a cost effective and price competitive market place.

In 2009 Vince was appointed as General Manager of Heavymech.  Since then Vince has undertaken studies with the University of Adelaide completing his Professional Management Program in 2011 (where he achieved top student for Williams intake), followed by his Master of Business Administration (MBA) in 2016.  Vince has led Heavymech through a development phase in recent years culminating in the organisation’s certification to AS/NZS/ISO 9001 Management Systems, AS/NZS 45001 Safety Management Systems & WorkCover SA Self Insurance.

Having worked in this business almost his entire working life, Vince appreciates that customers are the reason for our existence and as such enjoys the levels of customer interaction that he has.

James Marsland

Operations Manager – Whyalla

James completed a Fitter & Turner Apprenticeship with Marand Precision Engineering in 2007.

In 2008 James was appointed as Contracts Supervisor at Leightons Contractors and remained in the role until 2012 when he was appointed to the position of Works Supervisor.

James joined Heavymech in March 2014 as Operations Coordinator Whyalla Division where he was responsible for the Quality and Safety aspects of the Whyalla business.

In late 2014 James was appointed to Workshop Supervisor, he remained in this role until April 2016 at which time he became Operations Manager of the Whyalla Division.

James’ intimate knowledge of the local market and steelmaking operations makes him a valued member of our Executive Team.

Todd Curgenven

Operations Manager – Adelaide

Todd completed his apprenticeship as a Fitter & Turner with Heavymech from 2005 – 2009, during which time he displayed a thirst for knowledge and a natural ability coupled with a great work ethic.

He continued to work with the company as a tradesman for six years in both Fitting & Turning disciplines and was seen by the organisation as a valuable asset to the company with the potential to add value to the business in a greater capacity.

In 2017 Todd was promoted to Operations Manager and continues in that role today.

The experience that Todd has gained in such a short time makes him a valuable contributor to the Executive Management Team.

Chris Boshoff

Operations Manager Mount Isa

Chris joined Heavymech in 2017 in order to head up our acquisition of the Mount Isa Division.  With over 30 years of experience across a wide range of managerial disciplines and having a strong history in engineering trades, Chris brings a wealth of knowledge to Heavymech.

Graduating from PMP®, Chris is committed to performance excellence.  With his agile approach to his role as Operations Manager, our Mount Isa branch has gone from strength to strength.  Chris understands that customer satisfaction is our number one priority and will go to extreme lengths to achieve this.

Chris is a family man who supports his local community in various ways and is a strong believer in “buy local”.  His support in seeing the local community growing was the motivating factor in him becoming a Board Member of Commerce North West.

The experience and performance excellence that Chris brings to Heavymech has made him a valued member of our Executive Management Team.
